What your fatty liver nutrition plan can include

Depending on your assessment and selected option, guidance may cover:
- Suitable meal portions and combinations.
- Roti, rice, daal, chana, vegetables, fruit and protein choices.
- Cooking oil, fried foods, sweetened drinks and sugary tea.
- Office lunches, shift work, travel and eating out.
- Household meals, cooking access and food budget.
- Appropriate weight goals, where needed.
- Food planning around relevant medical conditions and prescribed treatment.
What we discuss before planning
Your assessment starts with your current situation.
Health context and existing reports
Discuss your diagnosis or scan finding, relevant symptoms, weight history, medicines, supplements and current medical care. If you already have ultrasound reports, liver blood tests, glucose/HbA1c or lipid results, the dietitian may consider relevant information within their professional scope.
You do not need to purchase a standard set of tests simply to send a booking enquiry. Your treating doctor decides whether further medical investigation is needed.
Food, routine and practical needs
We discuss your usual meals, appetite, activity, work hours, sleep, preferences, allergies, cooking arrangements and budget. These details help shape recommendations you can use consistently.
On the current form, you can identify fatty liver under “Other” in the medical-condition question.
Meet your MNT dietitians

Nutrition monitoring, follow-up and progress
The one-month programme includes your consultation, personalised diet plan, nutrition monitoring, two follow-ups and 24/7 WhatsApp support. Monitoring focuses on your food routine, agreed habits and practical progress.
Follow-up gives you a chance to discuss what is working and what is difficult: hunger, portions, work schedules, family meals or changes in your health. Your dietitian can review your routine and make appropriate adjustments to your plan within the agreed programme.
Progress may include your ability to follow the plan, agreed habits and suitable weight or waist trends. Your treating clinician may also review blood results or arrange further assessment when appropriate.
A change in liver enzymes or an ultrasound result does not, on its own, describe every aspect of liver health.
Your one-month support schedule
- Start: A 20–30 minute online consultation and a personalised diet plan.
- Day 14: Your first follow-up to review progress and practical challenges.
- Day 28: Your second follow-up to review progress and next steps.
- Throughout the month: Nutrition monitoring and 24/7 WhatsApp support.
- Plan review: Appropriate adjustments during your included follow-ups.
24/7 WhatsApp support is nutrition guidance during your monthly programme. It does not mean an instant response to every message and does not replace medical assessment or emergency care.
Nutrition support alongside medical care
Fatty liver is a familiar term. Your clinician may use MASLD when defined metabolic risk factors are present; older reports may use NAFLD.
Professional guidance supports individualised nutrition, suitable activity and weight management where appropriate. The aim is a sustainable routine that supports liver and metabolic health. No package guarantees reversal or a fixed recovery date.
How much does a fatty liver dietitian consultation cost?
Pakistan: Rs. 1,000 for consultation; Rs. 2,500 for consultation and a personalised diet plan; or Rs. 5,000 for the one-month programme. Overseas and international clients: US$10, US$30 and US$50 respectively, charged in USD. The monthly programme includes a diet plan, nutrition monitoring, two follow-ups and 24/7 WhatsApp support.
Will I receive a personalised diet plan?
Yes. A written diet plan is included in the consultation-and-plan package and the one-month programme. It is shared digitally after your consultation, with delivery timing agreed when booking. The consultation-only package provides personalised guidance without a written diet plan.
Can my plan include roti, rice and fruit?
Often, yes. Your dietitian considers portions, meal combinations and your wider needs. A suitable plan does not require the same restrictions for everyone.
Can I enquire if my weight is normal?
Yes. Fatty liver can occur without overweight. Your assessment should consider adequate nutrition and appropriate goals rather than assuming you need a weight-loss diet.
Do grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3 fatty liver need different packages?
Choose support according to your assessed needs, not the ultrasound grade alone. Fat grades do not establish the stage of liver scarring. Your doctor decides whether further assessment is needed.
What if I also have diabetes or high triglycerides?
Mention these when enquiring and during assessment. MNT checks an appropriate professional, and nutrition guidance should fit alongside your existing medical treatment.
Do I need reports before booking?
You can enquire first. Existing relevant reports may help the assessment; your doctor decides whether new tests are necessary.
Should I see a dietitian or a liver doctor?
A dietitian helps with nutrition assessment and food planning. A physician, gastroenterologist or hepatologist assesses the medical condition and treatment needs. Some people need both.
Can diet reverse fatty liver, and how long will it take?
Nutrition and lifestyle changes can reduce liver fat in some people, but response varies. Improvement in fat, enzymes, inflammation and scarring are different outcomes. MNT does not promise a cure or a fixed deadline.
Do I need detox drinks or supplements?
Do not use them as a replacement for appropriate care. Discuss any supplement with your treating clinician, particularly if you take medicines or have abnormal liver tests.
What does the one-month programme include?
It includes your initial consultation, a personalised diet plan, nutrition monitoring, two follow-ups 14 and 28 days after the initial consultation, and 24/7 WhatsApp support for one month. Your dietitian reviews your routine and goals and makes appropriate plan adjustments at follow-up. Support replies are not guaranteed to be instant, and the service is not emergency care.
How long is the consultation, and when will it happen?
Your initial consultation lasts 20–30 minutes and takes place within 24 hours of booking confirmation. Choose audio or video on WhatsApp, Google Meet or another agreed online platform. Share your time zone and preferred format when booking. Opening WhatsApp or submitting the form starts an enquiry; MNT confirms the booking and appointment time separately.
