Pregnancy Due Date Calculator Pakistan: Your Practical Guide
Simple answers first, then the science behind pregnancy weeks, dating scans, and the difference between an estimated date and a medical due date.
A pregnancy due date is usually estimated as 40 weeks (280 days) from the first day of the last menstrual period for a regular 28-day cycle. Pregnancy weeks are counted from that date—not from conception. First-trimester ultrasound or IVF treatment details can provide a more appropriate estimate. A due date is not a prediction of the exact day of delivery.
How do I calculate my pregnancy due date?
If you know the first day of your last period, add 280 days. If your menstrual cycle is predictably longer or shorter than 28 days, an approximate cycle adjustment may improve the estimate. For example, with a 30-day cycle, the simple adjusted due date is two days later. These are planning calculations, not a substitute for dating confirmed by a healthcare professional.
For example, an LMP starting 1 October 2026 with a 28-day cycle gives an estimated due date of 8 July 2027. You can enter your own date in the calculator above.
How many weeks pregnant am I?
Gestational age is expressed as completed weeks plus additional days. For example, 12 weeks and 3 days means 12 full weeks have passed and you are three days into the next week. The calculator uses today’s date on your device and updates the estimated gestational age when you calculate again on a later day.
The term pregnancy week does not mean the number of weeks since intercourse. By obstetric convention, pregnancy counting usually starts around two weeks before ovulation in a typical cycle.
Pregnancy due date by LMP, ultrasound, IVF or conception
Useful when your cycle is regular and the date is reliable. It can be less accurate if cycles are irregular, including with PCOS.
Enter the scan date and the gestational age recorded in the report. First-trimester ultrasound is usually the most accurate ultrasound method for establishing dating.
For a day-5 transfer, due date = transfer date + 261 days. For a day-3 transfer, add 263 days.
Add approximately 266 days. Use only with a reliably established ovulation/conception date, not an assumed intercourse date.
If the ultrasound and last-period estimates disagree, do not independently change an officially documented due date. Your obstetric clinician applies specific dating criteria.
Pregnancy trimesters and weeks chart
| Stage | Gestational age | What this means |
|---|---|---|
| First trimester | 0w 0d – 13w 6d | Early pregnancy and organ development |
| Second trimester | 14w 0d – 27w 6d | Continuing growth and development |
| Third trimester | 28w 0d onward | Later pregnancy, growth and preparation for birth |
Early term begins at 37w 0d, while full term begins at 39w 0d. These terms are not interchangeable. Discuss timing and individualized care with your maternity team.
What should I do after calculating my due date?
Save your estimated date and book antenatal care through your obstetric provider. Ask about confirming gestational age, necessary tests, pregnancy-safe medicines and supplements, and individualized nutrition. Pregnancy food needs may be affected by nausea, food aversions, anemia, gestational diabetes and other health conditions.
For food and nutrition questions, MNT offers online nutrition consultations. This service does not replace prenatal clinical appointments.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is a pregnancy due date calculator?
It provides an estimate. Last-period dates assume relatively predictable ovulation; a first-trimester dating ultrasound may be more accurate. Only a minority of births occur on the exact estimated date.
How many weeks pregnant am I by my last period?
Count the completed weeks and extra days from the first day of your last menstrual period. This follows obstetric gestational-age convention, even though conception generally occurs later.
Can I calculate my due date with an irregular period or PCOS?
Yes, but a last-period estimate is less reliable with irregular cycles. A dating ultrasound and obstetric assessment are better options for confirming gestational age.
Can I calculate due date using my ultrasound report?
Yes. Enter the date the scan was done and the gestational age (weeks and days) recorded by the clinician. The calculator projects the date at 40 weeks. It does not independently interpret fetal measurements.
How do I calculate my IVF pregnancy due date?
For a day-5 embryo transfer, add 261 days to the transfer date. For a day-3 embryo transfer, add 263 days. Confirm your ART-derived date with the fertility team.
Is the estimated conception date the same as intercourse date?
No. Ovulation, fertilization and intercourse need not occur on the same day. This calculator does not establish paternity or prove a conception date.
When does the second trimester begin?
At 14 weeks and 0 days. The third trimester begins at 28 weeks and 0 days.
Does the due date change for twins?
The dating method can establish gestational age for a twin pregnancy, but the delivery plan and timing can differ. Only your specialist care team should advise on the appropriate timing of birth.
Is this a pregnancy confirmation test?
No. This tool does not confirm pregnancy, check fetal health or detect complications. Use an appropriate pregnancy test and seek maternity care for confirmation.
Is my pregnancy information stored?
No. Dates are processed inside your browser for this calculator; the tool does not transmit them to MNT. PDF generation also runs on your device. External consultation and WhatsApp links are optional.
