Is this kidney nutrition service right for you?

This pathway is designed for adults with clinician-diagnosed, medically stable CKD who are not on dialysis. Earlier and moderate CKD may fit this service, but your stage alone does not decide suitability.

A suitable place to start if you…

  • Need help turning your doctor’s nutrition advice into everyday meals.
  • Feel unsure about protein, salt, potassium or phosphorus in your diet.
  • Want to discuss CKD alongside diabetes, blood pressure, appetite or weight concerns.
  • Cook for a family member with stable CKD and need clearer food guidance.

Discuss your care needs first if you…

  • Have advanced CKD, especially stages 4–5, or are receiving dialysis.
  • Have a kidney transplant, acute kidney injury, recent hospital admission or a rapidly changing condition.
  • Are pregnant, under 18, losing weight unintentionally or struggling to eat enough.
  • Need a kidney-stone plan or specialist renal nutrition outside this pathway.

These needs may require a hospital or specialist renal team. MNT will check the appropriate care route before you choose or pay for a standard package.

Not sure of your CKD stage? Share your doctor’s diagnosis and ask MNT what information is needed. A kidney dietitian supports nutrition care alongside your doctor; this service does not diagnose kidney disease or replace nephrology care.

From conflicting advice to practical choices

What your consultation can help you work through

Your discussion starts with what you eat, how you feel and the instructions already given by your treating team. The aim is a workable approach to food, with restrictions considered only when they are appropriate for you.

01 / REPORT CONTEXT

Understand the food priorities

Discuss recent kidney and related reports in the context of your doctor’s diagnosis and treatment, so nutrition advice is relevant to your situation.

02 / PROTEIN & PORTIONS

Know what needs adjusting

Work through protein foods and portions while considering your CKD, nutritional needs and appetite. “Less protein” is not the same instruction for everyone.

03 / MINERALS & SALT

Question blanket food bans

Review sodium, potassium and phosphorus when relevant. Food choices depend on your reports, treatment and overall intake, rather than a universal avoid list.

04 / EVERYDAY MEALS

Use the foods you know

Discuss roti, rice, daal, vegetables, fruit, eggs, meat, milk and tea in practical portions, with preparation choices that fit your household.

05 / OTHER HEALTH NEEDS

Bring the whole picture

Include diabetes, blood pressure, weight changes and poor appetite in the conversation. Avoid solving one food concern by creating an unnecessary restriction elsewhere.

06 / MAKING IT WORK

Build a realistic routine

Ask about shopping, work meals, eating out and cooking for the family. If you choose follow-up, discuss barriers and agree appropriate nutrition adjustments.

The one-month package starts with your first consultation. Its scheduled reviews are nutrition follow-ups; they do not provide continuous medical or laboratory monitoring. Medical tests, medicines and doctor appointments are separate from these packages.

Before paying, confirm the assigned dietitian, written-plan delivery time where included, follow-up dates, WhatsApp reply arrangements and cancellation or refund terms. Your consultation is arranged within 24 hours after booking confirmation; this is not a promise of an instant consultation or immediate written plan.

A straightforward way to start

From your first message to your consultation

  1. Check suitability

Contact MNT on WhatsApp. Tell the team you are asking about kidney nutrition, where you live and which package interests you.

  2. Share the assessment

Complete the general assessment form. The team will request the relevant kidney-care details and explain how to provide reports.

  3. Confirm and book

Agree the care route, dietitian, fee, policies and time before payment. Pakistan options include JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank transfer; ask about an overseas bank transfer if needed.

  4. Meet online

Join by audio or video through WhatsApp, Google Meet or an agreed platform. Discuss your priorities and receive the guidance included in your package.

Have this information ready, if available

  • Your doctor’s diagnosis, CKD stage if known and current care instructions
  • Recent creatinine/eGFR and relevant potassium, phosphorus or urine reports
  • Medicines, supplements, other diagnoses and any prescribed fluid limit
  • A usual day of food and drink, appetite changes and recent weight changes

MNT will tell you which records are relevant. Do not order extra tests solely for this page. Share health records only through the agreed assessment process, after reviewing the privacy policy. A caregiver can help you prepare and ask about joining the session.

Real meals, individual decisions

“Can I still eat roti, rice or daal?”

Often the useful question is how a food fits into your overall day. Your dietitian can discuss portions, frequency and preparation, taking your clinical needs into account. No single food list suits every person with CKD.

Roti & rice

Discuss portions and meal balance, including blood glucose needs if you have diabetes.

Daal, eggs & meat

Review protein sources and amounts for your situation. Avoid cutting whole food groups on your own.

Fruit & vegetables

Potassium advice depends on your reports and care plan. All fruit and vegetables are not automatically off limits.

Milk, tea & drinks

Consider portions, ingredients and any prescribed fluid limit. There is no universal water target for CKD.

Questions before you start

Kidney nutrition consultation FAQs

How much does an online kidney dietitian consultation cost?

The consultation is Rs1,000 for Pakistan clients or US$10 for overseas clients. Consultation with a written diet plan is Rs2,500 or US$30. One month of support is Rs5,000 or US$50 and includes the initial consultation, written plan and two nutrition follow-ups. Suitability, the applicable fee and booking terms are confirmed before payment.

Can you help if I have CKD and diabetes or high blood pressure?

These concerns can be discussed together when your case fits this service. Share your diagnoses, medicines, recent reports and your doctor’s instructions so nutrition guidance can account for the whole picture. Keep medical treatment and follow-up with your treating team.

Do I need to stop protein, potassium or phosphorus foods?

Not automatically. Advice depends on kidney function, relevant blood results, medicines, nutritional status and treatment. A generic “kidney diet” can create unnecessary restrictions. Your dietitian can discuss which changes are relevant and how to keep meals adequate.

Can a diet plan lower creatinine, reverse CKD or prevent dialysis?

No diet plan can promise those outcomes. Nutrition care can support appropriate eating and help you follow your treatment plan, but creatinine and disease progression have multiple influences. Your doctor assesses kidney function, treatment and the need for dialysis.

Do you provide diet plans for dialysis or kidney transplant patients?

These standard packages are not presented as a dialysis or transplant service. Those situations have different nutrition requirements and need appropriately experienced renal care. Tell MNT before payment so the team can confirm whether a suitable pathway exists or direct you back to specialist care.

What reports do I need? Can I book if I do not know my stage?

Start with your doctor’s diagnosis and any recent reports you already have. Creatinine/eGFR, relevant electrolyte or urine results, medicines and prescribed diet or fluid instructions may help. You do not need to interpret the reports yourself. Ask MNT which information is needed before booking.

Will I receive a written diet plan with every package?

A written plan is included in “Consultation + diet plan” and “One month support.” The consultation-only option provides verbal guidance. Confirm the plan format and delivery time before paying; booking confirmation does not mean an instant written plan.

How do the monthly follow-ups and WhatsApp support work?

The month starts with your first consultation, with two nutrition reviews planned around days 14 and 28. You can message on WhatsApp at any time, but replies follow the arrangements agreed with your dietitian. This is not an instant-response service, emergency care or continuous monitoring of your reports.

Can I consult from outside Pakistan or involve a caregiver?

Suitable overseas clients can enquire using the overseas fee schedule. Confirm your time zone, the care available where you live and the payment route. A family member can help with food history and questions; ask MNT about including them in your session.

How much water should I drink with CKD?

There is no single water target for everyone with kidney disease. Your fluid advice may depend on your condition, urine output, swelling, treatment and your doctor’s instructions. Do not increase water intake to “flush the kidneys” or override a prescribed limit.

Should I take kidney supplements or stop my medicines?

Do not stop prescribed medicines or add herbal “kidney cleanses,” supplements or protein products without discussing them with your treating clinician. Bring a full list to the consultation. This nutrition service does not replace prescribing or medical treatment.

How do I pay, reschedule or request a refund?

First ask MNT to confirm suitability and the booking terms. The team can share JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank-transfer details, and discuss an overseas transfer where needed. Ask for the applicable cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms before making your transfer.
